Songwriters of North America (SONA)

Songwriters of North America (SONA) is a songwriter-founded and songwriter-led advocacy organization dedicated to protecting the rights, income, and professional interests of songwriters and composers. Founded in 2015, SONA works to ensure that music creators have a stronger voice in the decisions affecting their work, especially as technology and digital music distribution continue to change the industry.

SONA advocates for fair compensation, creator ownership, workplace safety, and equitable treatment for songwriters and composers. Through government and industry advocacy, educational initiatives, community building, and industry engagement, SONA works to make sure songwriters are represented in the conversations that shape the future of music.
